After a lengthy hiatus, we are back with another video edition of Co-Op Classics. I've been looking forward to featuring this pairing of games for a long time, and as the release of Aliens: Colonial Marines looms, it's finally time. Come celebrate two arcade classics from the golden age of the brawler, all featuring the famous xenomorphs of the Alien movies: Aliens and Alien vs. Predator.
The arcade adaptation of Aliens is a mixed bag. On the one hand, there is a very cinematic feel, with many references to the film, like the motion sensor, the appearance of Newt, and using the Power Loader as a weapon. On the other hand, there are some downright bizarre elements, with odd Alien varieties, ranging from the acceptable (winged Aliens) to outright strange (long-necked Alien bosses who shoot balls of energy when decapitated). All in all, though, a very solid co-op side scroller.
