You may remember a few weeks back when we first talked about Dinosaur Games' MechKnight Chronicles, now called MechKnight Chronicles: Knightfall). The game is a call back to those brawlers of old, like Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara and Guardian Heroes, and showed a lot of promise as a couch co-op title for PC gamers. Interested in learning a bit more about the game, we got some hands-on time with it while Jesse Sosa, the creative director/owner of Dinosaur Games, provided a little "developer's commentary" and insight into what they've got planned. Check out the full video below.
One quick note about the video: all gameplay footage is captured from a pre-alpha build of the game and is cap'd at 30 FPS (though the game itself runs at smooth 60).
I'll also add on a story to all of this that we just couldn't fit in. Jesse and crew demoed the game at this year's PAX East. A gamer came up and started playing while his significant other hung back a little to watch. Jesse approached her and said, "Go on, grab the 2nd controller." She was a little reluctant at first, explaining that he played games way more than her, but she started playing and got into it right away. The couple was all smiles by the end of the demo. I can echo that experience as my fiancee is playing Tina throughout the video you see. While she'd be the first to say that she's not much of a gamer, she, too, had a great time playing and wanted to play more after we wrapped up the demo.
MechKnight Chronicles: Knightfall is definitely shaping up to be a great couch co-op, online co-op, and (if they can make it work) combo co-op title. Check out their Steam Greenlight page for more info and to show some support.
