After lots of talk over the last several months, Iron Galaxy Studios, Gearbox Software and 2K have finally stamped a release time for the PS Vita port of Borderlands 2: May 2014. It's about a year and a half after the game's original release, but portability might just be worth the wait.
It's no secret that co-op in Borderlands and Borderlands 2 is the next best thing to heaven, even though we're explicitly told there ain't no heaven at the end of the first game. The Vita port preserves four player online co-op play and also happens to have a bunch of DLC ready to roll:
- Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty
- Collector’s Edition Pack
- Mechromancer Character Class
- Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage
- Psycho Character Class
- Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1
If, for some reason, you were worried about the Vita handling all the guns and bullets and piles of searchable skag vomit, a recent video shows the game running pretty smoothly on the handheld device.
Wipe the grid off your Vita's screen, Borderlands 2 will finally be released this May.
