Tom Clancy's The Division has the promise to be a great squad based co-op game, and the recent gameplay footage definitely has us eager for more. In it, you see a group of players take on enemies to secure a base of operations from which they can coordinate more ops.
The footage shown off during the Microsoft press event shows three players controlling the Agents, while one player is controlling a hover drone and scouting/marking enemies for them. The hover drone is presumably being controlled through the companion app that has been mentioned/hinted at in passing.
There has been some mention of some PvP elements, though this particular footage shows off players vs AI only. The players have some very staged banter but it does give a good idea of what's possible with a group. The drone can call out targets and mark them for players, while the players can coordinate their skills to mix up snipers with more heavy arms based builds.
Hopefully Ubisoft will be talking more about it later this evening at their press conference so we can finally get a clear cut "here are all the co-op details" on the game.
