Is a Gold Membership required for the second player in combo co-op on the 360?

Yes. If a second player drops in for local co-op play they must sign into a gamertag if they want to save any progress. If Player 2 signs in as a guest, they will not save any progress (the game warns you of this). If a second player signs in with a Silver Membership they will be able to save their character's stats and progress but the game can only be played offline.

What direction is the screen split in couch co-op for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel?

In Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the screen is split horizontally for couch co-op.

Does the PC version of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel support split screen play?

No, online online co-op is supported on the PC. There may be mod support in the future to enable it.

How do you begin a co-op session in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel?

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel offers a few network options to allow the best co-op experience. You can limit people from randomly joining by setting the game to friends only or invite only. You can also just set a public match and then anyone can randomly join. For couch co-op play all that's required is pressing start and signing in on the second controller and you can hop right in with an existing or new character.

How does save game progress work for co-op play in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel?

All progress is saved to the character regardless of game mode. Lower level characters will automatically have their missions marked as completed during the session in which there is a vast level difference between players. You will keep currency, XP, and any loot you earned or picked up in the session. You'll have to complete the mission again in single player though. The game will tell you if a player is a good match or not to join based on story progress, level, badass rank, etc.

Can I join a game if the host is further along than me in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel?

Yes you can, but there are some caveats. Game progress is shared between all co-op characters in a session so long as each character has progressed to the current story mission. If guest players are on the same story mission as the host, story progress will be saved in the guests' and host's campaign. Story progress will not be saved for characters who have not yet reached the host's campaign mission. Basically, you can't skip missions by playing co-op. You can still participate in the mission and get experience and loot, but if you go back to your single player game - you'll still need to complete it again. The player with the least story progression should host the session, that way they won't miss out on any story elements.

What does the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel season pass get you?

The season pass content hasn't been announced other than it will include four content packs for $29.99.

So what's different in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel from the other Borderlands titles?

There's two things we think that set this apart from the previous Borderlands titles. The low gravity of the moon changes combat scenarios, adding verticallity to gameplay and making the firefights a lot more interesting than before. Along with this the oxygen mechanic gives players some options in a risk reward type scenario including a double jump, ground pound, and few other benefits to make your character a deadly fighting machine. Also laser space cowboys.
