Interstellar Marines Still Kickin'

Four guys, an idea, a passion, and a community. This is what it took to bring the developers of Interstellar Marines back from the brink, and they get to share their tale. They talk about the concept stages of the game, presenting their focus on co-op, character motion, AI, and the created world. As their dreams started to come true with publishers contacting them after a viral trailer hit the internet, they realized how much was at stake with the involvement of publishers. With publishers taking the majority of the revenue, and holding on to anything created in the development process, they eventually made the drastic decision to take the game back by becoming an independent developer.

Four guys had an idea, and now they have a team, community funding, and we still have Interstellar Marines coming our way. The involvement of community to this project is phenomenal, allowing Zero Point Software to keep striving to better things, perhaps sequels, perhaps free community content after release. Camaraderie is what saved these guys, and that's what co-op is about. Involving gamers to contribute to the game developing process, what gamer wouldn't want that? To say they were a part of something huge in their own gaming world? This could be the most revolutionary development process we've ever seen, and it could lead to many wonderful things for gamers.

The game is currently being developed for the PC, but Zero Point Software hopes to move to Xbox 360, and PS3 before too long!

If you head over to their website, you can enlist and donate (by "upgrading" your account) to help with the project! Go ahead, be a part of something.
