Two players gang up to fight their way through the campaign.
The third of Sega's classic beat-em-up stumbled a bit -- the Genesis system was waning, and the disappointing design elements of SOR3 didn't help its cause as expected. The game featured improved graphics, but by this point SNES brawlers were really showing up the Genesis system's lacking effects, and the wacky character designs were a turn-off to fans. Still, the game did feature the same brutal action of the series, with new attacks and an improvement in the special attack meter, and the game had multiple branching paths to brawl through.
