It's a new year and that means a fresh batch of titles to review. While there wasn't a whole lot at retail, the downloadable space seemed loaded with titles the Co-Optimus staff needed to play. Whether it was large DLC like Bad Company 2: Vietnam or an arcade title like Raskulls, we've got plenty.
Once again the weekend is upon us! There is much rejoicing around Co-Optimus HQ for a little R&R and gaming time. Whether it's Dawn of War 2, World of Warcraft, or even a myriad of portable gaming, the staff plans to be thouroughly engaged in some virtual world.

The latest rush for Acitivision sales are in, and we’re encouraging you to load up on your Activision published games and Call of Duty: World at War DLC while it’s cheap. Okay, loads of other DLC is also available at a reduced price - Major Nelson gives us the official scoop.
Atlus have released a brand new trailer for their upcoming two player cooperative hack and slash game called The Cursed Crusade. The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC title features visceral combat set during the medieval crusades and looks to be a mix of God of War style gameplay meets Assassin's Creed style narrative and setting.
While the first De Blob game offered 4 player co-op in a special mode on the Wii, the new title - aptly named De Blob 2 will offer a two player co-op campaign for families to enjoy together. The game has also expanded from a Wii only title to a multiplatform game with an Xbox 360 and PS3 version shipping as well when it launches on March 22nd. THQ describes the new co-op mode a bit like Super Mario Galaxy, your co-op partner takes the role of Pinky and helps De Blob paint the town with color as well as destroying enemies and collecting power ups.
System requirements are what PC gamers use to measure up just how awesome their rig is currently. Do you laugh when looking upon the the minimum requirements? Is your computer better than the recommended system specs? Or is your trusty PC starting to show its age, and only a little better than some of the areas of the minimum requirements? These are the questions PC gamers look forward to answering when games release their system requirements to the fans.
Today the NPD Group released the final sales estimates for 2010 including console sales figures and game sales numbers. On the gaming front, the top 10 best selling titles were unveiled, and there's not too many shockers on there. What's good to know is that cooperative games held their own, or at least, games containing co-op modes.
The Conduit 2 is coming out for the Nintendo Wii on March 1, 2011. This new teaser showcases some of the locales from the game before exploding into fast-paced action. The graphics look dated, even for a Wii title, but shiny graphics are not the end all be all when it comes to gaming. The Conduit 2 will have a four player survival mode where players can team up locally to battle waves of enemies. Not incredibly original, but hey, take your co-op shooting when you can get it on the Wii. Be sure to watch the video all the way to the end. That's where the magic happens.
Ruffian Games, the makers of Crackdown 2, are looking for a few good men and/or women to help them work on some new projects. No details are given, other than the projects are "really exciting, high action, visceral titles that are heavily focussed on online." Is Crackdown 3 in the works? Maybe. Is Ruffian Games hiring new coders to work on new games? Definitely.
