According to Splash Damage CEO Paul Westwood, the 8 player co-op game Brink has sold more than 2.5 million copies to date. The game was released last year to mixed reviews, though Co-Optimus felt it was a solid title.
Hey guys, remember Brink? I sure do. It's a heck of a squad shooter, when it's working properly. It's been six months since the game's release and most of the bugs have been ironed out. Splash Damage is moving forward with more multiplayer support. A new title update will include clans, tournaments, and a global rankings ladder. Most of these added features apply to the multiplayer versus mode, but I'm sure you and your buddies could form a clan and still play co-op matches.
Right now you can snag Brink on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 for a tiny chunk of change. Just how small? How about ten dollars. Ten dollars for a co-op game we gave a solid 4 out of 5 on. Ten dollars for full eight player online co-op through the entire campaign. Ten friggin dollars.
It's been sometime, but we're back this month with another official Xbox 360 Co-Op Night. The game de mois is Brink with its 8 player online co-op gameplay. Hopefully you fine folks remembered to snag the free Agents of Change DLC before it went premium last week, as we plan on hitting that up as well.
It's another free play weekend on Steam, and this time around, co=op shooter Brink is the featured game. Just log in to your Steam account and start downloading; you'll be able to install the game and play it at no cost until 1 PM Sunday, Pacific Time. If you were on the fence about this one, well, now's your chance to try before you buy, in more depth than just a demo.
This weekend's real-world headlines have been pounding the buzzword "compromise" into the skulls of hapless newswatchers. But what does it really mean to compromise? For Splash Damage, it means finding the right balance of story experience and gameplay experience in what many have deemed an overly ambitious blend - the quasi-campaign we call Brink.
Brink's DLC was supposed to be available in "early July," but it looks like that has become early August. The content will be out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on August 3rd to be precise.
Amazon's Deal of the Day today is on the 8 player co-op shooter Brink. It's a game we're pretty big fans of around Co-Optimus HQ - and one we gave a pretty favorable review to as well.
The first DLC for Brink is expected to be out early this July. The Agents of Change pack will have two new stages, a new ability for each class, two new weapon attachments, and two new outfits so you can play dress up with your friends. You can see them all detailed here. The new abilities may look familiar to anyone who hit the level cap. They pop up when you hit level 20, then disappear. At least they used to, this may have been patched away by now. I'll finally get to use those Napalm Grenades I unlocked back in May!
All three version of Brink are on sale today at Amazon's website. The 8 player co-op title is marked down by $20 making the console version a sweet $39.99 and the PC version $29.99. I've personally been waiting to snag the 360 version of the game so I can join our community and their weekly playsessions. We'll also be having an upcoming Xbox Live Co-Op night for the game in the coming weeks!
