It's been a little over two months since we first heard about Game Republic's upcoming sequel, Dragon Ball: Origins 2, that will include a special co-op multiplayer mode this time around.  Based on Akira Toriyama's famous Dragon Ball series about a young boy named Son Goku who's on a quest to find the mystical Dragon Balls, this particular title will follow Goku's adventures with the Red Ribbon Army.  We've received some new screenshots of the game, and while they don't seem to show off too much of the co-op multiplayer mode, they do provide a good glimpse of what Dragon Ball: Origins 2 looks like in action.

Yesterday, we brought you word of a new Nintendo DS co-op title, Dragon Ball: Origins 2, that is slated to hit stores this summer.  Today, we bring you the first trailer for the game, which shows off a bit of the co-op challenge mode in action.  Based on what's shown in the trailer, it appears that players will be able to use special co-op attacks to take down bosses and other foes when they team up for the challenges.  Here's hoping this mode is as much fun as it appears to be, and doesn't go down the same path as other titles with these types of challenge modes.

Namco Bandai announced yesterday that the latest in the Dragon Ball series of games, Dragon Ball: Origins 2, will be arriving State-side this summer and, best of all, it'll be arriving with co-op.  The single-player portion of the game will revolve around the adventures of Son Goku as he takes on the Red Ribbon Army, while the co-op portion will be a separate piece that's focused on specific co-op challenges for two players.  Players will unlock these challenges through progress in their single-player campaign, though hopefully there will be some challenges available to players from the start.  Keep reading for the full press release as well as a few screen shots from the upcoming title.
