Hey there Wii U owner. Remember when Minecraft: Wii U Edition became one of the top selling games on the system? Nintendo and Microsoft are aiming to keep that momentum going by releasing a retail copy of the game bundled with a bunch of skin and texture packs. Same price as the download, only now you get a glossy box, too!

Minecraft: Wii U Edition gets some fresh paint this month with a Super Mario texture pack, pulling from classic games like Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. With all the Xbox and PlayStation and even Pocket editions of Minecraft floating out in the world, one system is conspicuously absent: Nintendo Wii U. You'd think the most family friendly console would be a haven for a game like Minecraft, but so far the system has been voxel-less. All that changes December 17th.
