While it might be over three years old at this point, Saints Row IV is still going strong on the PC. The modding community has been providing new weapons, outfits, and more for the title for quite some time, and now, that content can get added to the game directly from Steam as Workshop integration is available.
Got a PC and a ton of time this weekend? You're in luck, because Steam likes you very, very much. From now through Sunday at 1 p.m. Pacific Time, you can download and play both Civilization: Beyond Earth and Saints Row IV for free. Go on, call the co-op buddies. It's time to either conquer the world or save it from an alien invasion!
Oh, how far the 3rd Streets Saints have come from the simple days of cracking thugs with pimp canes in the hood of Stilwater. The newest installment, and standalone expansion, Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell yanks everyone's favorite gang-turned-pop culture icons right out of Steelport and into the slightly rougher territory of Hell. Of course, you and your buddy (controlling either Johnny Gat or Kinzie Kensington) are given some pretty sweet abilities to make your trek through New Hades less agonizing and more mindless, idiotic fun.
The Saints Row series abandoned any pretense of sanity around the time you were hosing down business men with a septic truck, accompanied by a revolutionary French mime. It's not exactly much of a stretch to assume the newest installation in the series, Gat Out of Hell, will be anything less than completely ridiculous. A completely stand alone title, Gat Out of Hell features series regular Johnny Gat and Kinsie Kinsington breaking into Hell to rescue the Boss/President of the Saints from having to marry the devil's daughter.
If you somehow missed out on the Superpowered Presidency of Saints Row IV, or never got around to playing their increasingly bizarre truckload of DLC, fear not. Saints Row IV: National Treasure Edition is on its way July 8th for $30. National Treasure Edition comes with all 29 DLC packs those fools put out.
