Sea of Thieves Season 3 is a bit different than the first two, with a full fledged cross over with Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. E3 2021 is the first E3 since Microsoft acquired Bethesda, and today’s Microsoft and Bethesda Games Showcase is the first joint E3 press conference from the two companies. The 90-minute event revealed a number of new and previously announced games that will be coming to Xbox and PC in 2021 and 2022. Naturally, we’re most psyched for the 10 co-op games featured in the showcase.

We're back again with more Sea of Thieves for your viewing pleasure. We've now streamed the Rare game the past three Monday nights during our regular co-op streaming time at 10PM Eastern. Clearly the game has something that keeps us coming back and wanting more.
Sea of Thieves may have been around since early 2018, but Co-Optimus has more or less not been tempted by it's golden bounties. The risk of invading player pirates have turned us off of these types of games - from both a coverage and interest perspective. You'll notice the DB entries for Sea of Thieves mentions "griefing" as a piece of information. But if our first session is any indication, the risk of being ganked feels pretty low and the emergent gameplay is worth the price of admission.
Rare's open-world piratical adventure game, Sea of Thieves, turned one year old last month, and to celebrate the occasion (a month later) they've released their free "Anniversary Update" today. This brings a few new additions, such as a dedicated PvP area and a new faction to earn rep with, but it also adds something that we, personally, have been waiting to see: co-op driven experiences.
