Although the Serious Sam series originated on PC, it has a long history of console ports as well. That's why we're seriously stoked that Devolver Digital and Croteam have finally released Serious Sam 4 on Xbox Series S|X (and Game Pass!) and PlayStation 5, complete with 4-player online co-op.
It's been a while since we've gotten a full, numbered Serious Sam entry, and while the franchise's hordes of fans (Sammites? Samaritans?) have been very patient in waiting for the upcoming Serious Sam 4, they'll unfortunately have to hold on just a bit longer. As it turns out, developer Croteam no longer feels comfortable with the original August release date and, as such, have pushed the release to September 24th.
The Serious Sam series has been co-op friendly since the beginning, with the first game launching way back in 2001 challenging the likes of DOOM, Duke Nukem and QUAKE. Now the series has returned after several VR releases with a proper sequel simply called Serious Sam 4.
