Like so many other games these days online play eventually disappears into the Matrix - forever lost to gamers forever. Never again will you be able to walk those hallowed halls with your mates in online co-op. On the 10th anniversary of the SOCOM franchise, Sony is shutting down the servers for several of their games, including SOCOM: Combined Assault and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 - both the co-op titles.
Sony's PlayStation Portable 3000 has gotten a price cut, dropping $40 from $169 to $129. This new price brings Sony's system in below its main competition, the Nintendo's DSi, which is priced at $149.99.

This afternoon Sony announced that SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 3 has gone gold and will be released in retail and on the PlayStation Network on February 16th.
While SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 is indefinitely delayed, which probably isn't as bad as it sounds, Sony has decided to tease us with some fresh new media from the PlayStation Portable title. We have a fresh batch of screenshots and a trailer showing some in game action for the four player co-op title.
Joystiq reported today that SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 3 is being delayed. This is most likely to give Sony more time to print the game's ludicrously long title on game case covers and related retail material.
GameTrailers grabbed exclusive access to the first "dev diary" for SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 3 in late November, but before the month was over, the Sony blog had a copy posted as well. With the holiday season bustling with titles squeezing in last-minute hype, it's nice to see separate blogs spreading the word on what looks to be a solid portable title in January.
We got our hands on SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 3 at PAX, confirming 4-player co-op both online and locally (ad hoc) and thoroughly enjoying our limited time with the title. We did not have a release date, however.
