Last night we wrapped up our Trine 3: Artifacts of Power play through. It was a shortened stream in which we only needed to complete two side missions and the final boss fight to end the game.
Our play through continues of Trine 3: Artifact of Power on the PC. This time looking at Level 7 - The Redwood Forrest as well as mini-levels A Brush with Death, A Lonely Knight, A Wizards Epiphany.
There's something to be said about the physics based puzzles in Trine. When they work, and the solution is somewhat obvious, it can be satisfying. But sometimes the game's physics simply don't cooperate, or the solution to a puzzle may not be easily seen. Soon you find yourself over-thinking Newtonian equations when really all the game wants is to have you jump on a box. Sometimes your co-op partner simply wants to troll you by dropping boxes on the wrong side of a see-saw. Whatever the game tends to throw at you it's as equally entertaining as it is frustrating.
It was almost two years ago we did our complete play-through of Trine 2, streaming the entire game from start to finish in co-op. Last night, we started our play-through of Trine 3: Artifacts of Powers doing the same. The latest game in the series continues the legacy of extremely gorgeous art design and graphics, but changes one key component, it adds a third dimension to the game allowing the players to go back into the rich environments.
Developer Frozenbyte is hoping to release the PS4 version of Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power before Christmas, complete with all the visual bells and whistles from the PC version. Oh yeah, and co-op for three players!

Pontius the Knight, Amadeus the Wizard and Zoya the Thief are back! Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power is a big new entry in the Trine series from Frozenbyte, bringing back all the puzzle solving co-op action we love, complete with some amazing new visuals.
There are some great looking games out there, but strangely many of the prettiest forgo the latest 3D graphics and instead build upon the look and feel of the 2D generation. Trine is such a series and the third game; Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, looks like the best looking yet and even goes as far as adding the third dimension.
Let's get something out of the way right now. The Trine series has been known for consistently beautiful visuals since it first graced our liquid crystal-ridden screens, and Frozenbyte has long been the master of the whimsical fantasy aesthetic. These two facts are infinite truths. Pillars of all that we know to be real. Trine 3, though? Woof, guys. Woof.
Indie developer Frozenbyte announced today that Trine's wizard, thief, and knight will return for a third entry in its co-op puzzle-platformer series later this year.
