Last summer a charming little co-op puzzle platformer called Wyv and Keep: The Temple of the Lost Idol made its way onto PC. The game found you and a co-op partner guiding the titular heroes through an ancient jungle ruin in search of treasure. Though it was initially only available for purchase through the game's website or Desura, this Friday it will be available on Steam.
As 2013 draws to an end and we look ahead to what the new year and next gen consoles will bring, there's plenty that's happened over the past year that's worth a bit of a revisit. Here, then, is a recap of some of the stand out Indie-Ana Co-Op features over the past several months, and my own personal list of favorite indie games I've played in 2013.
You may recall last year when the cooperative puzzle platformer Wyv and Keep was (at the time) a game that would see release within the year. Fast forward several months to now, and well, it will be seeing its imminent release! The game is all set to be released on PC, Mac, and Linux through Desura and through the game's website for $10. You can also pick up a 2-pack so you and a friend can get online together for just $15.
A new year means a new year of gaming to which to look forward. While there are a few AAA co-op titles set to release over the next few months that we're excited about, there are also quite a few independent co-op games that are slated to come out within the first 6 months of the year. As a fan of any indie co-op title that combines two of my most nostalgic loves (8-bit or 16-bit graphics and puzzle platformers), I've been keeping an eye on a jolly corpse's Wyv and Keep. Described as a "grid-based puzzle/action game starring two young treasure hunters", players control the titular heroes, Wyv (pronounced "wiv") and Keep, as they explore ancient ruins in search of loot and a way out. While the game's been in development for some time, the game has reached that level of development where the developer's are accepting preorders (for just $7.99) and are releasing a little more than just a handful of screen grabs... including a demonstration of the online co-op in action!
