I've been asked several times in the last two months: "What is your most anticipated game of 2009?" For co-op, the answer has been the same every time: "Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X."
A four-player drop-in/drop-out campaign that mirrors the single-player campaign -- a la Left 4 Dead -- is a force to be reckoned with in any game, but in a title where the skies are not so friendly, your co-op "wingman" can be just that.
I've always been intrigued with the Ace Combat series. Truth be told: I've only ever played two of them, and neither for very long. The lack of co-op held my hand from purchase for years, and when Ace Combat 6 boasted four-player co-op content, I had lost interest. More than a year has passed, and now that I'm eager for a chance to get back into the cockpit, H.A.W.X. is on the radar, and it looks like a major contender for Ace of the Skies.

Unfortunately, we don't get to see any new gameplay footage today. To make matters worse: even the pre-render trailer is lackluster. But it confirms a piece of information that I picked up at my local GameStop on New Year's Eve: H.A.W.X. is shipping in March.
