[E3 2014] - Watch the Official Minecraft PS4 Trailer Now

A specific release date has yet to be announced.

With the success of the Minecraft console versions, it was inevitable that they would eventually arrive on the current gen consoles. From the looks of things, the Minecraft PS4 Edition is looking to be even more epic than ever before.

The latest E3 trailer for the PS4 version is definitely enticing us to go play some co-op Minecraft on the consoles when they both finally release this summer. In addition to the improvements that come from the superior hardware, we have many skins being showcased here too. Featured are some of the most prominent PS characters from games such as Journey, Ratchet and Clank, and God of War. Previously, we've witnessed that other characters like those from the Uncharted series will also appear too, whether as DLC or what not.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One versions  of the game will be arriving on an unconfirmed date this August, with game worlds 36 times as big than found on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Those that want to upgrade their previous game saves from the previous gen over to the new versions will also be able to do so within a year for only $4.99 (for newcomers it's $19.99). 4-player split-screen co-op, as well as 8-player online co-op, are still supported.
