New Trailer For Over 9000 Zombies! Shows Off Map Editor

If you build it, they will uuuuugggghhhhh

Over 9000 Zombies!, the latest in top-down zombie genocide entertainment, has released a new trailer showcasing its newest feature:  a map editor!  Now you and up to three friends can blast hordes of undead on a soccer field, or in a warehouse that looks strangely like Lemmy from Motorhead.  Not only can you present these new creations to your friends, but developer Loren Lemcke has also given you the option to upload your maps to the Steam Workshop.  From there, strangers from all over the world can download your map, fight zombies, and say to themselves, "Come to think of it, I have always wanted to headshot zombies in the parking lot of a Denny's."

Check out the announcement trailer below, but be warned:  the music may raise your hype levels to critical mass.

Over 9000 Zombies! has been going strong on Steam's Early Access program since July of this year, so it's pretty impressive to see a content-heavy feature like a map editor coming out so early in the development cycle.  Though the game's four player co-op is strictly a local experience, you can still enjoy online co-op sessions via the game's two player mode.

Co-optimus's very own Nick Puleo and Locke Vincent spent some time with the game earlier this year, and it seems like they quite enjoyed it.  If you're looking for top-down zombie dismemberment simulators, there are plenty of options to choose from.  What seems to set Over 9000 Zombies! apart so far, though, is its depth of content, which one would assume is expanding even more quickly with the addition of user-created maps.  Personally, I'm waiting for some zombie-loving madman to come along and fulfill my dream of skewering hellspawn inside a hypercube.
