Resident Evil Revelations 2 brings us another co-operative a campaign that gives co-op partners a bunch of ways to work together and combat zombie threats. How will having a co-op partner differ in this game compared to the others? You'll have to watch a couple of videos for a sneak peek.
For starters, Resident Evil Revelations 2, which will be a four-part episodic title, will begin releasing early next year starting on February 18th Xbox LIVE, PSN, and Steam. Episode 2 will release this February 24th, followed by Episode 3 on March 3rd and and finally Episode 4 on March 11th. Each episode will cost around $6 each. However, if you wait to purchase the Complete Season, you'll be able to obtain additional game content, such as two spin-off episodes which explain the backstory of two new characters to the game. Additionally, the infamous Umbrella operative, Hunk, will be accessible in RAID mode.
If possible, we'd recommend waiting for the retail release of the game, which will hold all the previously stated content, along with Albert Wesker's accessibility in RAID mode, four costume alternates, and the Throwback Stage Pack for RAID mode (includes four stages themed in previous Resident Evil environments).
Moving onto some gameplay footage, each character in the 2-player local co-op campaign works a bit differently from one another, so co-operation between unique abilities is key to survival this time around. A series staple character, Claire Redfield, along with a brand new character to the series, Moira, utilize both guns and melee weapons to work as a team. For the first video, however, we get a quick look at how co-op players can save one another from incapacitation, boost them onto higher ledges, and how to recover health in-game using herbs. Take a quick look at the first video below:
The second gameplay video shows off the teamwork that both characters will need to use while progressing through the story mode. Using each one perfectly will yield great results against all the monstrous enemies encountered. Like in most of the resident evil games, a quick roundhouse to the creatures with follow-up weapon attacks can do a lot of damage without getting attacked back. Additionally, it looks like some enemies don't like light from Moira's flashlight being focused on them, causing them to be stunned for a short time. Use Claire's weaponry to back up Moira is a co-op combo for the win!
