There's just something special about trying to exploit a game. Ever since Destiny, I knew that finding "loot caves" was going to be the next big thing within games. Well, this time it's the developers of Dying Light who are getting in on the action and are purposefully adding in special caves as a nod to the now infamous Destiny loot cave.
For those of you who aren't aware of this phenomenon, "loot caves" are special areas in the game that players can go to exploit the game's programming and grab large quantities of loot easily. This time around, Techland, the devs behind the recently released Dying Light, have placed a reference of the first Destiny loot cave that players have discovered not long after release. Dying Light's loot cave requires players to swim into, which is located somewhere at the top right of the world map. As soon as you enter the cave, a message will appear onscreen that says:
"Your destiny is to build your legend (and get loot)."
Once this message appears, zombies will soon begin to spawn indefinitely within the cave (players should be prepared for this). Following the mass of undead, another message will appear that reads:
"Enough! Patch 1.0.2 has been released! Do more quests!"
An obvious references to Destiny are abundant here. In the first message, not only containing the game's title in the message but also mentioning to "build your legend", one of Destiny's main marketing tag lines. The second message follows infinitely spawning zombie hordes, which is what the original Destiny loot cave did before Bungie fixed the exploit in Patch 1.0.2, also referenced.
Clearly Techland is having just a bit of fun in their game referencing an in-game exploit that is now pretty much known by the whole of the gaming community, so players should have some fun with this too.
