Original Borderlands Part of Xbox One Backward Compatibility

Co-op party like it's 2009.

The still-new Xbox One Backward Compatibility program tiptoed into preview mode recently, giving Xbox One owners the chance to play select Xbox and Xbox 360 games without resorting to eBay. A list of almost two dozen compatible titles has been released, and our favorite guns 'n loot RPG shooter Borderlands is the star of the show.

Xbox One Backward Compatibility opens up a lot of doors for co-op play. Borderlands will be fully playable on Xbox Live, allowing you and your pals to link up no matter which system you're playing on. Saves can be transferred and used on the Xbox One, as well, so you don't have to feel like that 243 hours you already put into the game will go to waste. And because you can, be sure to take advantage of the game streaming feature so everyone can watch you get wrecked by that tiny skag you can't seem to shoot in the mouth.

The Xbox One Backward Compatibility program is set to launch in full this November. Over 100 games are supposed to be available by the holidays, with "hundreds more" on the way in coming months. Co-op offerings are a little thin at the moment but include BattleBlock Theater, N+, and yeah, Borderlands.
