Fury Unleashed Gets Online Co-op, Boxed Edition Coming Later This Year

Finally, a chance to unleash the fury with a physical copy

Fury Unleashed is a cool run-and-gun shooter/Roguelike with a comic book theme that launched on consoles and PC after a period of early access. There's no other game quite like it, especially not with both local and online co-op. That certainly makes Fury Unleashed worthy of a boxed release, something that will finally happen thanks to Meridiem Games. The European publisher has announced that special boxed editions of the PlayStation and Switch versions will be launching this autumn.

Fury Unleashed official description:

Explore the pages of a living comic book where ink is your most valuable resource and each room is a new comic panel. Find out why John Kowalsky, creator of the acclaimed Fury Unleashed series of comic books is having a creative crisis and find a way to help him out.

Discover outlandish worlds created by a mix of hand-designed, procedurally generated levels and choose the best items to assist you in your playthroughs. Kill enemies fast enough to unleash your fury and destroy everything in your way without taking damage - learn to play flawlessly and attempt to finish the entire game with a single, epic combo!

Sounds a bit like Comix Zone, doesn't it? As a Roguelike, Fury Unleashed is quite challenging, but upgrading your character and teaming up with a friend in 2-player co-op definitely make for a fun time. Awesome Games Studio even updated the game with online co-op a short while ago!

Online update details:

Vibration support on all controller types. Save & Quit in local & online co-op modes. Experience points gain in the Epilogue Chapter. Full controller assist options for crossover modes. Balance changes to improve the flow & fix the flaws.

Fury Unleashed is now available for $19.99 on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Steam. The PlayStation and Steam versions are on sale until June 8, so be sure to snap the game up while you can! Meridiem Games promises to reveal more details on the boxed edition soon.
