Fatshark is almost ready to unleash Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on the game-playing masses on November 30. Most players' hearts will not be able to take that game's brutal first-person cooperative action, so the developer is helping people build up their tolerance by giving them Darktide's spiritual predecessor, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, first. That's right, the Steam version of Vermintide 2 is totally free to keep if you grab it between now and November 7. It might even save your life!
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a first-person cooperative action game set within the Warhammer: End Times universe. Up to four online players can team up and take on challenging missions while seeking randomized loot and facing huge hordes of enemies. Think of it as the Warhammer equivalent of Left 4 Dead and Back 4 Blood. The replay value is super high, especially when playing with friends. Hey, your Steam friends should probably grab Vermintide 2 right now as well!
The Steam version of Vermintide 2 will also receive a free update on Tuesday, November 8 called Trail of Treachery. This will add a new mission set in the snow. A second mission will follow at a later date.
Players who own Vermintide 1 or Vermintide 2 will get the "Devoted Rejects Pack," a free Darktide cosmetic pack inspired by the protagonists of Vermintide. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide launches on Xbox Series S|X and Windows Store, and Steam on November 30.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 supports 4-player online co-op. It sells for $29.99 on Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam. The Steam version is free to keep from November 3-7, so don't dare to miss it! Update: The giveaway has ended.
