Shiny Things In Store For White Knight Chronicles Co-op

Maybe you're like me, and a few months ago you caught a glimpse of White Knight Chronicles in Japan, but wondered what was in store for the US release. The release in Japan was missing a few key things that we seem to need to enjoy the co-op aspects of a game, or needed to be explained in translated terms so we knew what was what. Playstation Blog interviewed the US Producer of White Knight Cronicles, Tsubasa Inaba to find out what we should expect state side.

To begin with, Japanese RPG's tend to give you a cast of characters that you're stuck with, like it or not. With White Knight Chronicles, you get to create your main character, and keep them for both single player and the online co-op missions. The co-op consists of up to 4 players, each with their unique characters, playing through online specific missions. Each online mission is capped out at one hour, easily done in one sitting. These online missions produce co-op specific loot, which transfers over to your single player game!

The nice thing about getting a release date after other countries, is we get to ask the developers to change little things. In the case of White Knight Chronicles, the US side of gamers asked for a voice chat system for the game. To me, this is essential for any co-op, so it will be nice to see if they listen to gamers on that. Take a look at what else is in store for the upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive!
