River City Girls 2 is one of this generation's biggest and best beat 'em ups, combining smooth combat, action RPG mechanics, and a delightful story into one compelling package. Whereas the first game only supports 2-player local co-op, RCG2 launched with 4-player local and 2-player online co-op. We thought that's where the co-op features would end, but WayForward surprised us by adding 4-player online co-op to the Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and Steam versions of the game. Now we're talkin'!
After updating the game, players will be able to create and join 4-player lobbies.
The new 4-player online support should allow for even more exciting beat 'em action. Things get pretty hectic with that many players and enemies on-screen! Cross-play is supported among all platforms that now have 4-player support, so Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 owners can team up with Steam owners for big brawls. Note that the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch versions are limited to 4-player local play.
To celebrate the new update, WayForward has published a cool new trailer.
River City Girls 2 supports 4-player local co-op and 4-player online co-op on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch versions support 4-player local co-op and 2-player online co-op. All versions support cross-play.
The North American version of River City Girls 2 sells for $39.99 on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Steam. The killer soundtrack is also available for $11.49 at Amazon and other digital music stores.
