RyseUp Studios and Starbreeze's Roboquest has been in Steam Early Access from 2020 up until the present. All that fine tuning is now coming to an end because Roboquest has fully launched on Xbox and PC at last. Not only is the game on all the big PC storefronts, it's also available through Game Pass, which should greatly help with finding co-op partners.
Roboquest begins with Max, the human protagonist, driving through the desert of her futuristic world. There, she locates the lifeless body of a guardian robot. Max soon repairs the robot. Together, Max and the other robots she recruits will embark on a quest to rescue their city and save humanity. Who must they fight against? Evil robots, of course.
The game is a first-person shooter/roguelike. After completing a single-player tutorial, players will arrive in the base camp. There, the players can interact with NPCs, manage characters, purchase gameplay upgrades, and set out on missions. The coolest basecamp functionality, however, is the ability to summon a "brobot" - a co-op partner, in other words. The game supports 2-player online co-op rather than four, so calling the partner a brobot makes sense. He's your bro! Cross-play is also supported, presumably between Xbox, Windows, Steam, and Epic.
