In 2021, Robi Studios released a fairly well-liked 3D action adventure game called Blue Fire. Robi is now hard at work on their next game, Solar Raiders. This one maintains some appealing visual artistry but changes up the genre to roguelike shooter. It will also feature 4-player online co-op, something we're all about. The game isn't due until next year, but the developer has already released a demo on Steam.
Solar Raiders features:
Third-Person Movement Shooter: Jump, dash, slide, wall run, hook and much more in this frenetic fast paced platformer-shooter. Challenging Bullet Hell: Dance through a rain of bullets while unleashing chaos. 4 Player Co-op: Embark on a cosmic quest solo, or online with friends. Unique Replayable Runs: Guns, Flamethrowers, Grenade Launchers, Ice Beams and... Bubble Blowers? Create unstoppable builds mixing crazy weapons, perks and skills. Roguelite experience: Gear up, befriends with criminals and unlock permanent upgrades at the Hub between runs. The demo is a very early one that unfortunately lacks controller support. I'm not a mouse and keyboard guy, but the game still looks very promising. Players control a space traveler who has been captured by a ship and made to engage in pirate-style raids. The sci-fi universe and art style are quite cool. Players can grapple and wall run as they move around levels, so the gameplay is more dynamic than your average 2D roguelike. Between levels, the team will visit the hub area of the ship and buy cosmetic items and upgrades. Nobody wants to be a generic blue raider forever!
Solar Raiders is coming to Steam in 2025. Grab the demo for a sample of the raiding to come!
