When Warner Bros' and Player First's MultiVersus fully launched in May, the game was not without technical issues. Frame rate stutters and "desync" errors (disconnects) have occasionally marred an otherwise enjoyable Super Smash Bros.-style fighting experience. Thankfully, the version 1.2 update that arrived this week aims to address these issues, hopefully bringing an improved experience to all.
Abridged Version 1.2 update notes: General All characters now incur a 15-frame repeat-move lockout on their ground side attack combo. This will prevent individual fighters from alternating ground side attack and dodge to lock enemies in hitstun for extended periods of time. Camera minimum distance in 1v1 has been increased All available Profile Icons, Banners, Badges, Ringouts and Announcer Packs will appear in the Account Cosmetics section of the Fighters tab. Previously only some unowned cosmetics were shown. Balance changes made to Banana Guard, Black Adam, Bugs Bunny, Garnet, Gizmo, Harley Quinn, Iron Giant, Jason, Morty, Reindog, Shaggy, Superman, TazI haven't had much chance to play since the update arrived, but I'm hoping that the balance and performance improvements lead to a better experience for all. MultiVersus supports 2-player online co-op in Rifts and custom games. The Rifts mode has received two new campaigns since launch, so it should continue to give players lots to do as they work to complete objectives, earn currency, and unlock more characters.
MultiVersus is now available on Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Epic. It's free to play, so give it a try.
