WayForward's River City Girls 2 has been out for nearly two years now, but new things are still in store for it. The highly anticipated "Double Dragon" DLC was announced back in April without a release date. Well, it turns out that release is nearly upon us! The "Double Dragon" DLC will be released on November 12, adding two new playable characters and more. A free update will arrive at the same time, so everybody's River City Girls 2 experience is about to get better.
Official DLC and free update descriptions:
No longer relegated to their previous roles as dojo masters, the iconic Double Dragon brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee, are ready to kick yakuza butt as premium playable characters with unique movesets and full story integration featuring all-new dialogue by returning voice actors Dan Avidan (Billy) and Arin Hanson (Jimmy) of the Game Grumps.
Additionally, the DLC adds a new Double Dragon rap song performed by Hanson and Avidan (with music by series composer Megan McDuffee) plus new dojo master Boro, while a new free update to all players delivers a new Double Dragon-themed motion comic, two new shops with new items (including the "Season's Beatings" seasonal shop), playable character color palettes, and more.
Revisiting the game as Billy and Jimmy Lee should be a brutally good time for beat 'em up fans. River City Girls 2 supports 4-player local co-op and 4-player online co-op on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Switch versions support 4-player local co-op and 2-player online co-op. All versions support cross-play.
River City Girls 2 sells for $39.99 on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Steam. The "Double Dragon" DLC will arrive on Tuesday, November 12.
