Beyond Co-Op, May 17th to May 23rd

The stories for this week:

- Fallout 3 DLC Coming to PS3, 2 More DLCs Coming Up

- Warner Bros. Announces New Lord of the Rings Game...for Kids?!?

- Warner Bros. Make $33 Million Bid for Midway Assets

- Big Surf Island Opens June 11th in Burnout Paradise

- inFAMOUS Leads Way in Releases Next Week

Fallout 3 DLC Coming to PS3, 2 More DLCs Coming Up

One of the bigger stories this week is that the DLCs currently out on 360 and PC for Fallout 3 will make their way to the PS3. Operation Anchorage should be out in late June followed by The Pitt and Broken Steel 4-6 weeks apart. Along with this, Bethesda also announced 2 new DLCs are on their way for all systems (360 and PC first, PS3 later) called Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. The first is due late June and the second is due in late July. The PS3 versions will start after the original DLCs have been released.

Also of note is that if you wait until October you can get a Game of the Year edition that will include the original game and all five (5) DLCs for $59.99. Bethesda will also be selling packs of DLCs in-between now and then. Fallout 3 is certainly giving Burnout Paradise a run for the DLC money (although the latter has had many free DLCs as well).

Warner Bros. Announces New Lord of the Rings Game...for Kids?!?

Not much is known about the game, but it most likely is not the first game we were looking forward to now that the license has reverted back to Warner Bros. Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest will be a game built for children and for families as a whole. It is just weird to see a rather violent collection of books turned into a child’s game. The game will supposedly be shown off next month at E3, I wonder what it will look/play like.

Warner Bros. Make $33 Million Bid for Midway Assets

Seems kind of lowball, but then again Midway is pretty much bleeding money at the moment. Obviously the key item in Midway’s assets is Mortal Kombat. Warner Bros. has recently been trying to purchase assets as it tries to get deep into video gaming. It has its name attached to quite a few properties even if other companies are producing it like Batman: Arkham Asylum. We shall see what comes of this, but at some point the best guess is that someone is going to pick up Mortal Kombat.

Big Surf Island Opens June 11th in Burnout Paradise

The map in Burnout Paradise is about to get bigger as Big Surf Island opens up June 11th on all platforms. There is no price as of yet, but this is considered the largest DLC area-wise for the game since it came out. That Criterion is still supporting this game almost a year and a half later is amazing.

inFAMOUS Leads Way in Releases Next Week

inFAMOUS leads the way in releases next week, coming out on Tuesday. Maybe you’ve played the recently released demo off of the Playstation Store, maybe you haven’t. I know a lot of people are questioning whether to pick this or the upcoming Prototype up as they consider them to be quite similar. I beg to differ and I think a lot of people will find out once both are released. inFAMOUS was pushed up a week, probably to buffer itself from Prototype, but the reviews that are coming in have so far been quite positive. The only thing inFAMOUS loses to Prototype on is that it is a PS3 exclusive title whereas the other one is multiplatform. However, this could be another one of those special Sony releases like Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was…one that makes those that don’t have a PS3 go out and buy one.
