Welcome to Beyond Co-Op E3 Edition where I link up all I can from sister site Colony of Gamers and other trusted locations about single-player games that have little to nothing in relation to co-op gaming.
The stories for the last day (Day Three) of E3:

- Overall Thoughts
Show Floor Previews
With the move into the final day of E3, previews and hands-on stuff becomes more and more scarce as many places have already seen the big games and have moved onto the smaller publishers and their games. First I would like to point out that Colony of Gamers does have a Day 2 podcast available (and should have a final day one tomorrow) where they touch on many games they saw yesterday at the show. With that out of the way, I rely on Joystiq for their previews of games outside of co-op:
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP)
Dead Rising 2: Case Zero (XBLA only)
Assasasin’s Creed: Brotherhood (single-player)

Overall Thoughts?
Saw a bit of G4 today in their two hours of coverage. I saw True Crime: Hong Kong, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, Portal 2, Vanquish and TRON: Evolution
.
I was very impressed by True Crime: Hong Kong. I only played the first game, but I really enjoyed it quite a bit. This game is looking good from a gameplay perspective, but I do wonder if there will be a morality mechanic in the game or not. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 is also looking very good and hopefully it will be a tighter game than the last one. I have belief the team will do well in this outcropping of the Star Wars universe. No doubt that Portal 2 will be great. It looked like there were new mechanics in the game and obviously GlaDOS is back, so how bad can it be?
I thought Vanquish also looked really good and the gang from CoG did talk about it in their Day 2 podcast lined above. TRON: Evolution just showed the lightcycle part of the game. In fact, I’m not sure there is another part of the game, but the lightcycle section looked pretty boring. Would have been nice to see some action or something, but no.
I’ll really have to pour through video from various sites, but with my editorial yesterday I still say E3 isn’t needed except for those little known games that need a little bump. It doesn’t help that places like G4 are only highlighting the top games.
