Some gamers like it hot, and StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty delivers on that request. Well, okay, maybe you don’t actually want your computer to overheat, and possibly melt while you’re watching those interactive menus with the guys standing around, and the juke box, and - whatever else is in the between-missions screen in the campaign.
Blizzard has admitted to the issue, and offers a quick fix. See, what’s happening here is the framerate is not limited in these various between mission menus, so your graphics card works really, really hard to bring you the pretties. Unfortunately, that is enough to truly fry your graphics card, so here’s your solution.
The fix is easy, requiring players to add the following lines to your "Documents\StarCraft II\variables.txt" file:
frameratecapglue=30
frameratecap=60
Now that we’ve set that straight, it’s time to co-op - or, finish the campaign story, then co-op. Grumble grumble, single player story, grumble. Oh, and just in case you’re not sure if this is stressing out your computer, or your computer just can’t handle all of the awesome contained in StarCraft II, Here are the official system requirements as listed by Blizzard for both Mac and PC users.
