Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Shipping Without Online Play

Looks like being part of Microsoft's Summer of the Arcade had its downside for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light - the game's not quite done yet.  We just received an email from PR stating the game will be shipping on August 18th on XBLA sans online co-op.  The game will still feature local co-op play for two players, but online leaderboards and co-op play will be missing.

On September 28th the game will be shipping on the PlayStation Network and PC, and on that day the XBLA version will receive a title update to add in the missing online features.

Further down the road five packs of DLC are planned for the game including new characters and levels that focus on puzzle, combat and exploration.

We find this a bit disappointing, as we really enjoyed our hands on time with the game earlier this year.  This is definitely a game you're going to want to play in co-op.  At least the feature wasn't cut completely.  Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will cost $15 when it ships for its respective platform.
