Halo: Reach has already established itself as a Co-Optimus favorite with its 4 player co-op campaign and Firefight mode achieving a maximum review score of 5 out of 5. In fact, the game has proved so popular that some gamers may have actually maxed out their characters in terms of the in-game experience ranks. Bungie promised the community that they would lift the artificial cap once 117 million in game challenges had been met. Internet boffins had predicted this would be in mid-November, but the target has already been smashed. Therefore, Bungie have announced an end to the rank cap.
But what does this mean? There will now be more rank and armor options available in the Armory for people who get to the higher echelons of the ranking system. Bungie have also been quick to quash any rumors of a second rank cap, so now there is nothing to stop you reaching for the stars. To aid you in this epic climb, Bungie are also introducing a credit reward for people that finish a match and don't quit out. Losing a Firefight pal half way through a tricky match is always a pain, so an incentive to stay must be a good thing [not that you really need one].
Time to play another few rounds of Halo: Reach before Call of Duty: Black Ops hits the shelves?
