Suddenly I find myself hungry for Jell-O. Perhaps that's because Tales from Space: About a Blob is out now on the PlayStation Network, complete with two player local co-op. In the game you an innocent little creature that grows and grows until it eats the whole world. And that's why I'm hungry for some Jell-O...lime Jell-O.
The game sports a two player local co-op mode where each player controls their own Blob. Players can work together using the spit/attract capabilities to pass objects back and forth and make quick work of the game's enemies and puzzle elements. Apparently there's a huge collection elemet to the game, so while you start off small eating things like food and small animals - you eventually work your way up the "food-chain."
Collection is a big part of the game. As you make your way through the levels you must find and eat objects that are smaller than you, which causes you to grow. Little by little you get larger and larger, eventually becoming large enough to absorb cars, people, buildings, etc. Collectible points and hard-to-find “Blob friends” are also scattered about the levels. These are used to provide secondary achievement targets to players looking for an extra challenge.
About a Blob's demo was previously available for PlayStation Plus subscribers, now it's out for everyone and available for purchase for $9.99.
