If there is anyone in the audience that hasn't tried out the latest in the Halo franchise, now's your chance to go at it with your buddies. Halo Reach has finally unleashed its free-to-play demo on Xbox Live. The Demo includes campaign mission "Long Night of Solace," a competitive multiplayer map, and a co-op firefight map for free.
From the Xbox dashboard:
Halo: Reach is the biggest and most ambitious Halo title yet, and this first-ever Halo demo drops you right into the action with the epic “Long Night of Solace” mission from the single player campaign. The demo also includes the competitive multiplayer map “Powerhouse” and a cooperative Firefight mission for Xbox LIVE online play! Halo: Reach is a tour de force of stunning visuals, powerful story, epic encounters, and more replayability than any Halo title to date.
For anyone not familiar with the Firefight mode in Halo, it's their form of survival. Waves of Covenant enemies swarm after a team of up to four Spartan soldiers, increasing in difficulty as the waves go on, while also adding challenges of the Halo skulls to the mix. Skulls mostly grant the enemies bonuses, like having unlimited grenades, or being able to dodge almost anything you can throw at them - but there are a few fun ones for giggles as well.
All-in-all, if you've been putting off trying Halo: Reach for any reason (we know, they've been cranking these bad-boys out, and you're not sure if the quality is there anymore, it's okay) you can try it for free now.
