These chicks mean business.
No, that's not a picture of the greatest glam rock band of all time. Those are a few of the characters from the XBLA and now PSN title, Castlevania Harmony of Despair. That's right, Castlevania HD is coming to the PSN, and it's bringing local co-op with it. In addition to the six player online co-op, four players will be able to play together on one PS3. We still have a few questions about the specifics, but at least we know local co-op will be supported. We're curious to see if the local play will be a shared or split screen affair, or if there will be simultaneous local and online play. We also hope that local co-op will be added to the XBLA version. That would be nice.
We really liked Castlevania Harmony of Despair, giving it a 4 out of 5 in our Co-Op Review. The game is a great representation of old school, 2D action platforming at its finest. Castlevania HD was 1200 MSP on the XBLA, so you can expect a $15 price point. As an added bonus, the Pyramid level DLC and the extra characters, Julius Belmont and Yoko Belnades, will be included. You and your minions can expect to battle Dracula and his minions on the PlayStation Network later this summer.
