We all loved Borderlands. From countless co-op sessions to adventures with Painted Queens, nearly our entire community came together to tear apart the wasteland of Pandora in search of precious, precious guns. We all knew a sequel was bound to happen, and guess what? It is. In our inboxes this morning came glorious news for the Co-Op Revolution:
2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that the sequel to the extravasplosive breakout hit, Borderlands™, is currently in development at world-renowned developer Gearbox Software.
Borderlands 2 features all new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story. Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora.
Gearbox will be showing Borderlands 2 at Gamescom from August 17th-21st, at PAX Prime from the 26th-28th, and more information will be forthcoming in the September issue of Game Informer. A release window of "Fiscal Year 2013" was set, which means we'll at least have to wait until after April 2012 to see it.
