Welcome to Beyond Co-Op, a weekly piece that talks about industry stories that may or may not be related to co-op gaming.
The stories for this week:
- PS Vita is Region Free
- A Disappointing Bit of Halo Anniversary Kinect News, Hopefully More Coming
- inFAMOUS 2 and its DLC Getting Move Support
- PS Vita Launches on December 12 in Japan, Has Short Battery Life
- Small Game Called Gears of War 3 Releases This Week
PS Vita is Region Free
Sony’s worldwide head answered a Twitter question with an affirmative that the PS Vita will be region free. This is big news for those in North America and Europe as you can get in line to buy the system when it releases.

A Disappointing Bit of Halo Anniversary Kinect News, Hopefully More Coming
A bit of Kinect news related to Halo Anniversay came out this week. We got news that with voice commands you can switch between Anniversary and original graphics. What? Hopefully that is not the only Kinect news or connection to the upcoming game, but if it is the news is certainly disappointing.

inFAMOUS 2 and its DLC Getting Move Support
I liked inFAMOUS 2 quite a bit (you can read my review here). News came down this week that when the DLC releases that it will include Move support and also have an update for the original game to include Move controls as well.

PS Vita Launches on December 12 in Japan, Has Short Battery Life
It was announced that the Vita will be out on December 12 in Japan. The good news as noted in the first news item is that it is region free. The bad news is that early reports are that the system has a short battery life, on par with the Nintendo 3DS at about 3-5 hours playing games. That’s not very good news.

Small Game Called Gears of War 3 Releases This Week
The march of the #3s continue this week with the final chapter in the Gears of War universe. I’m sure many of you have noticed the amount of third games coming out this year, it only gets worse from here. Enjoy this game though because the reviews have been mostly positive.
