In its first week of retail Gears of War 3 utterly decimated the 2011 sales charts, selling more copies in seven days than any other game has cumulatively sold to date (as of January 2011). The tally shows above three million copies of the game going home with happy gamers everywhere. That's amazing!
In other news, two unplayable maps - named "Azura" and "Rust Lung" - have shown up on the game's leaderboards. These same maps were shown off during a torret leak in July, and they're speculated to be part of the first round of downloadable content. We'll find out in November, which is when Gears 3 DLC starts forming up for deployment.
