Nielsen Names Modern Warfare 3 Most Anticipated, Battlefield 3 #7
Probably not the news EA wants to hear, but Nielsen research recently did a survey for the top 20 most anticipated games for the holiday season. Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 took the top spot with its rival Battlefield 3 taking the #7 spot. The full list can be found at the link below: Two of the games ahead of the latter are already out (Gears of War 3 and Madden 12).

Vita Limited to 20MB Download on 3G
Now, this may only affect the Japanese side of things since I am sure this is provider dependant and with AT&T handling the 3G connection over here who knows. With that out of the way it was announced that the 3G connection will be limited to 20MB of download data, making it impossible to download games and the like. If this becomes true over here I can’t imagine many 3G versions of the Vita being sold. I mean, they already have themselves behind the 8-ball because of the AT&T connection, but that’s another argument.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations Continues PC Delay Game to December
Joining Batman: Arkham City on the PC delay train is Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, now being pushed back to December. They were touting this as the first time the series would come out simultaneously on 360, PS3 and PC, but that is no longer true. In other news THQ announced that Saints Row: The Third will be out on all systems, including the PC, at the same time. That’s somewhat good news.

Syndicate Shown Off, Gets February 21, 2011 Release Date
A lot of people are going to piss and moan about Syndicate not being an RTS game, but did you really think Starbreeze was brought on to make an RTS? Really?!? So, it’s an FPS and I think the game is looking awfully good and it seems like early previews are pretty high on the game. Granted, previews can sometimes give a false sense of security to us, but I have a feeling this is the real deal. It will probably get compared to Deus Ex: Human Revolution quite a bit from the early stuff I’ve seen, but we’ll see.

RAGE, Dark Souls, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, NBA 2K12 (Why?) This Week
id’s RAGE is probably the biggest release of the week, although I know a lot of masochistic JRPG players are salivating over Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to the unrelenting Demon’s Souls. Along with this, Activision quietly releases Spider-Man: Edge of Time this week. Although the marketing hasn’t been as quiet as the seemingly horrid X-Men: Desitny from last week, the hype hasn’t been huge either…which could be a bad sign. Finally NBA 2K12 comes out this week and the only question I can ask is why? There’s no NBA season yet and none of the rookies are in the game (so I can’t play as Ricky Rubio…been waiting years since he first was drafted!). I would think this would hurt sales, but who knows.
