Resident Evil is a series that reflects our times; the zombies representing the 21st century obsession with epidemics and the increasing gap between the super-rich and those living in poverty. Another modern global fear is terrorism and the upcoming Resident Evil: Revelation looks ready to reflect this, if its new story trailer is to be believed. Perhaps all these theories are true about Resident Evil - but it could all just be an excuse to go around and shooting cool stuff?
The new trailer is as much a mood piece, as game trailer, and suggests that Revelations will continue down the dark paths or Resident Evil 4 and 5 (although the previous games were not happy fun times either). Revelations is coming to the Nintendo 3DS and has the 2 player online co-op mode 'Raid', which is unlocked as you progress through the game. The new story trailer suggests that there will be some hefty cinematics for a handheld game; perhaps the story will be involving enough that you don't mind playing through the game to unlock the co-op levels?
