Saints Row: The Third is a DLC machine. THQ's open-world action funhouse seems to drop new content on a weekly basis, be it new outfits, vehicles, or story missions. The three different types of content form a nice Neapolitan mix for everyone. Today we have updates on all three flavors of DLC.
First up is the Spec-Ops package. This content offers up some military hardware featuring the Saints' purple paint job. The Tank, N-Forcer, and VTOL are all decked out in the Saints' gang colors. Sure, you can unlock these vehicles in the regular game, but they don't look nearly as cool. The Spec Ops DLC came out last month, and it will cost you $3 or 240 MSP. If you have a hard time picturing a purple tank, plane, and SUV, don't worry your pretty little head. We've got a video.
Neapolitan Rating: Vanilla - not too exciting, some new skins for some old vehicles.
The Steelport Gang pack comes out this week. This will allow you to (wait for it) mimic the style of your favorite Steelport gang. Will you go with the tech savvy Deckers, the masked Luchadores, or the chic Morningstars? It doesn't matter what you choose. I'm sure your character will be ridiculous. I have yet to see a female character in Steelport that does not look like a porn star. Somehow, I'm okay with that. Once again, this content will cost you $3 or 240 MSP. We have a video for this pack as well.
Neapolitan Rating: Strawberry - Some people will dig it, but it's not for everyone.
Finally, we have some new Saints Row: The Third stand-alone content coming out this fall. I guess this was hinted at on April 1st. (I missed it because I refuse to go online on April Fools Day. That way I can avoid all of the stupid pregnancy announcements on Facebook.) Titled "Enter the Dominatrix," this content will feature a stand-alone story involving aliens, alternate realities, kidnapping, and super powers.
"Enter the Dominatrix" should be a healthy chunk of content. It's expected to cost $29.99, and it won't be part of the Season Pass. Saints Row: The Third was THQ's big money maker last year. I'm sure we can expect even more details and content between now and autumn. Neapolitan Rating: Sweet, delicious chocolate. Always save the best for last.
All of Saints Row: The Third's extra content has been co-op friendly, so long as both players have purchased it. We have no reason to believe this will change.
Saints Row: The Third supports two player online co-op. We gave it a 4.5 out of 5 in our Co-Op Review. It's available now for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
