Happy Saturday. Welcome to another new edition of Beyond Co-Op, the weekly column that rounds up some of the interesting industry news that doesn't strictly pertain to co-op. This week we have a selection trailers and release date news. Here's what we have on tap:
- Bioshock Infinite Delayed to 2013
- Assassin's Creed 3's First Gameplay Trailer
- Dishonered Set for October Release
- Battlefield 3 Official Servers Disappearing?
Bioshock Infinite Delayed till 2013
Bioshock Infinite was originally set to be released this fall/winter, but alas, the game is being pushed into February. Perhaps more interesting is the self imposed "media blackout" for the development team being imposed by studio head Ken Levine. That means the game won't be showing up at PAX Prime, E3, or Gamescom this Summer.
Assassin's Creed 3 Gameplay Trailer Unveiled
The "American History" of Bioshock might be delayed out of this year, but you can get your classic US fix in another form thanks to Assassin's Creed 3 and its Revolutionary War setting. The first trailer is out and it's a doosy.
Dishonered Set for a October 9th Release
If you don't know about Dishonered, it's a steam punk style action/stealth game in part developed by Harvey Smith - famous for his work on the original Deus Ex. The game is being developed by Arkane Studios who's parent company is Bethesda. It'll be released on 360, PS3, and PC on October 9th. Here's a trailer to whet your appetite.
Battlefield 3 Official Servers are Disappearing?
If you've tried to play some multiplayer versus Battlefield 3 on a console, you might notice a distinct lack of servers available to play on that are "official." At first it appeared that EA was falling back on the community, who can pay to rent a server for a month. Now it seems that's only part of the problem - the program is so popular that EA had to rent out the official servers. Don't you love modern console gaming?
