When the original Borderlands was released, umbrella sales went through the roof. It was the only way that people could protect themselves from the shower of blood and limbs in the game. Personally, I like my rain filled with meaty chunks, but others may not. Therefore, news that Borderlands 2 will have a gore filter will be music to their still attached ears.
The official Gearbox Community page posted the news about an easy to implement gore filter, but also the fact that this allows them to release the game uncut in traditionally more conservative regions:
We're happy to announce that Borderlands 2 will be uncut all over the world!
Some fans will remember that the first Borderlands game was a bit toned down in certain territories compared to the rest of the world. No longer! Do you live in Germany? Australia? Bandits will be just as likely to explode into bloody chunks of awesomeness as they will be in Canada or England (which is to say: very likely.)
Or, maybe you’re the type who abhors violence. You’re in luck – we’ve implemented a Gore Toggle option. With a single button press, you can turn Borderlands a less violent experience!
With Borderlands 2's September 18th release date rapidly approaching, Co-Optimus are as giddy as a bunch of school girls waiting to see the latest generic boy band. The game features an awesome level of co-op compatibility; 2 player local, 4 player online, or a combination of both. Put us all down for limb proof raincoats when the time comes.
