So, it turns out Left 4 Dead is a pretty good game, to put it mildly. We hyped it like mad here, and for the most part, it lived up to our expectations. It's one of the most fun experiences on any console this season.
However, it looks like there are some folks who will make their own fun by cheating. Giant Bomb has the details about hacking Left 4 Dead, which is unusual for a console game. Infinite health, spawning weapons, and summoning hordes of witches are just a few of the ways people have altered the gameplay. You can check it out a video showing some of the l33t h4xx right here.
Fortunately, Valve was right on top of the situation, and issued a patch quickly. "The fix is designed to halt the cheating behavior on the dedicated servers, which accounts for the majority of the co-op and Versus modes of play," says marketing head Doug Lombardi. You have to admire the speed with which this was fixed.
Speaking of Versus mode: if you're like me, you've played through the co-op missions several times already. Perhaps you find Vs. mode appealing, but want to read up on some tips and strategy first? Look no further than our partner site Colony of Gamers. Posted in the forums there is an nifty discussion of the roles of each Infected on a team. I can't wait to be a tank!
