Three months after being re-released on the Xbox Live Arcade, Alien Breed 2: Assault is being re-re-released on the PlayStation Network. This Tuesday - December 07th - the game will be available for two player local and online co-op.

Luckily for Team 17, aliens’ have a regular breeding programme. Well they certainly have enough children to populate a second episode of the Alien Breed series within the space of a year. Are there enough new features in Alien Breed 2: Assault to justify buying a follow up so quickly?
The first Alien Breed title, called Alien Breed Evolution on XBLA, was a solid top down shooter that was tweaked quite a bit for its PSN and PC release where it was called Alien Breed Impact. Today Team 17 has announced the next chapter in the series in a game called Alien Breed 2: Assault. The original game was conceived as an episodic series and it looks like Team 17 is making good on that promise.
