Despite a recent premium map pack being released last week, the console version of Aliens vs Predator will no longer receive any patches or content due to Sega terminating support. The assistant community manager for Sega had this to say on the official forums:

SEGA has announced a brand new map pack for Aliens vs Predator on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Called the Bughunt pack, you'll be ready to enjoy four new maps across different environments. Speaking of environments the maps adds in weather effects like rain, as well as environmental hazards like flaming pits.

The eternal battle of Aliens and Predators is back with a brand new game from Rebellion. Three separate campaigns, multiplayer and a co-op survival mode are all waiting for you in this remake of the classic PC title. But is 10 years worth the wait?
Aliens Vs. Predator wasn't designed from the ground up for co-op, but there's still a good co-op experience to be had in Survivor mode. Similar to Gears of War 2's Horde mode, Survival puts you in the shoes of a squad of Colonial marines, taking on wave after wave of Alien invaders. As with all similar modes, a variety of maps makes a big difference, and more will soon be available.

Sega's next two PC co-op titles will require Steam to play according to Shacknews. Aliens vs. Predator, which releases on February 16th, and Napoleon Total War, which releases on February 23rd, both will require Steam to play any of the game's modes, including the cooperative ones.

There is certain to be an abundance of "Horde Mode" style gameplay in the upcoming co-op lineup. First Halo 3: ODST's Firefight Mode, and now Rebellions Aliens Vs Predator game is getting a similar co-op mode.
